Just as the artist does not create a continuous, but in rare moments of inspiration, history, by Zweig, proceeds by leaps: a succession of trivial facts is interrupted by long intervals of key events. It is these moments of "a dramatic concentration, carriers of destiny, where a major decision is condensed into a single day one hour and often for a minute, "(...) taking Byzantium the quest for El Dorado, the Battle of Waterloo, the expedition of Captain Scott's South Pole, laying the first telegraph line in the Atlantic Ocean, the last months of life and the genesis of Handel's Messiah , or composition of La Marseillaise by Rouget de Lisle. "The ancient Greek translations of poems which follow were written largely for my own pleasure, in the strictest sense of the word, that is to say without any concern for publication . It is the same notices, short or long, that precede them, and were first information meetings or evaluations attempted to myself. In translating these poems, or fragments of poems, my approach was no different from that of the painters of old, drawing from the antique or brushing a sketch from paintings of earlier masters them to better to penetrate the secrets of their art, or even the composer's reworking of an occasional passage of Bach or Mozart to enjoy and learn from him ... " Yourcenar

" ... the author reflects on his favorite topic: creation is an ethic, sense of a work on oneself. The work is born indeed often difficult confrontation with himself and the impossibility of escape from ourselves. But contrary to popular belief, creating is not, for Paul Audi, suffering. It is a generous impulse which opens a new dimension to life, which he called "joy" ... Ed Verdier

"This book is not a cookbook, like the others. Do not expect outlandish recipes, finds of Gala. This is a Summary of natural food cooking raw, as there is art brut. Palaeolithic cuisine is the cuisine of God. " All Delteil

Lanolin For Dogs Nipples

House, Roberto Innocenti

Favorite!

Among its new acquisitions, library Lasalle draws your attention to a children's book character who has a very "extraordinary." Published by an American publisher is a book about the history of a house through the people who lived within its walls and the events that have affected their lives and hers.

Cevennes And this house is! You read that right! The "bancels", chestnut, wild boar ... While the landscape evokes the Cevennes. This story gives a precise content to the impression we have in older homes: walls speak of ancient days, sorrows and joys. Beautiful drawings full of details to explore with the children, telling them only a century of history (s). The last picture is also worth a thought ... depth.

Anyway this book argues that many more learned treatises of architecture for the old houses in the Cevennes are profoundly respected and valued among younger generations.
